Datapipe Brings Real Time Visibility Through New Relic Partnership

When companies look to move their operations to the cloud, partially or in full, one firm they quickly notice is Datapipe (News - Alert), who offers a single-provider solution for managing and securing mission-critical IT services. This can include cloud computing, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), co-location and data centers.

Datapipe already positions itself as a one-stop shop for cloud computing and hosting, and now, is partnering with New Relic, an all-in-one Web application performance tool, to sweeten the pot further.

“You have two people visiting, then 2,000. Now you have 2,000 every minute. Now pages are slowing down. Customers are frustrated. Sales are sinking, and bad news is spreading on Twitter (News - Alert). Enter New Relic,” noted a video by the company.

New Relic offers real-time Web application performance monitoring, allowing companies to watch the end-user experience in real-time to discover bottlenecks and other important Web issues. From the visibility, the bottlenecks can then be eliminated.

With the partnership, all Datapipe clients now receive New Relic Standard edition free of charge by setting up their account at this link.

“Datapipe clients can gain complete visibility into their application in a few minutes,” enthused Datapipe on its blog post announcing the partnership. “Everything is ready to start using New Relic today. It’s easy so what are you waiting for?”

New Relic comes with end user monitoring, applications monitoring, database monitoring, infrastructure monitoring and availability and error monitoring. In essence, it brings complete visibility to websites and services run through Datapipe.

The software not only tracks how fast Web pages load and how users’ experiences vary based on things such as which browser they’re using and what ads are filling their page, but it also digs into a customer’s data center to find out where a hiccup is slowing a website.

“It will even find a single line of code that is causing a problem,” Rich Phillips told Bloomberg BusinessWeek Magazine last year, the principal network engineer at Apollo Group.

The software is made particularly easy to use, too.

“New Relic has borrowed from the consumer technology playbook and made a product meant to provide enough visual pop to attract customers on its own,” noted the Bloomberg (News - Alert) article. “Customers gain access to a dashboard through their Web browser to configure and test the software. They’re then presented with a variety of colorful charts that break down the performance of their website.”

New Relic offers three pricing plans, with New Relic Standard as their plan between basic monitoring and the company’s total monitoring package. New Relic Standard normally costs $49 per month.

The Standard package includes all the features at the heart of the New Relic service, including monitoring of metrics such as application response time, performance of external services, apdex score and a large list of other features. What New Relic holds back from the Standard for its Pro/Enterprise package is more complete tech support, custom reports, detailed transaction tracing and breakdown, SQL analysis, and a few other services such as background job transaction analysis.

Regardless, this new offering from Datapipe and New Relic will prove very advantageous for its users!
