Rackspace (News - Alert) Hosting recently announced that they have made available professional training for OpenStack delivered by Rackspace Cloud Builders. Rackspace Hosting is one of the leaders in cloud computing. OpenStack is an open source cloud operating systems that is supported by over 100 technology organizations. It is fast becoming one of the preferred cloud based operating systems for both public and private clouds. Rackspace Cloud Builders has taken it upon them to provide professional hands-on training course for OpenStack developers and administrators. The training will cover the fundamentals, administering, and troubleshooting the OpenStack Cloud.
This training will be provided by Rackspace at their campus in London and at the Dell (News - Alert) campus in Austin before the OpenStack design summit to be held at Boston. This will be a five-day intensive training on the fundamentals of OpenStack. The training will not only focus on implementation of OpenStack, but also to manage large network of virtual machines. This training has limited seats due to the classroom training.
In a release, Krey Associates Founder and President Peter Krey said, “Having direct access to OpenStack core developers and people who have implemented OpenStack in production was a unique and valuable experience. Unlike homogenized classes with stale video and static slides, the practical, hands-on approach made it highly relevant. I am very impressed that they incorporate attendee feedback and are committed to continuous improvement of the curriculum.”
The team at Rackspace Cloud Builders includes architects and operators at the NASA Nebula Cloud Platform. This team has extensive experience is deploying and managing massive cloud infrastructure.
Rackspace Cloud Builders GM Mr. Jim Curry said, “As powerful as the OpenStack software is, we know firsthand it takes a lot more than software to properly design, deploy and operate a cloud at scale. We are pleased to introduce Rackspace Cloud Builders training, which immerses students in the OpenStack environment to evaluate the technology for specific use cases, learn how to get a cloud up and running and improve the performance of an existing installation. Students of Rackspace Cloud Builders training will have exclusive access to the OpenStack specialists at Rackspace, and will walk away from the training course with the experience and knowledge to install, run and operate an OpenStack system in production.”
